Kidney stones, actually.
If you've never had them, I'd recommend steering clear.
Right now, I'm supposed to be at a place up near Mt. Hood. But Saturday morning about 5:00 I woke up with a slightly upset stomach. Went to the head, and within 10 minutes I was on the floor doubled-over yelling for Michele to bring me some Vicoden.
I've done this once before, so I knew what it was.
BTW, Vicoden won't make a dent in kidney stone pain.
Off the the ER...with stops along the way to throw-up in a neighbor's yard. 2 hours later they finally get around to the IV drugs. Did I mention that injections/pills won't really do much?
Finally passed the little bastard today. But that was 2 days of hell I'm not keen to repeat.
Moral of this story: if you have a kidney stone, don't let the docs mess around with injections of morphine or percocet. Insist on the IV stuff ASAP!
