Drop a motor in and go or update some things, depends on how far you want to go
with it.Some guys would do nothing, others would disassemble and reassemble, depends on what you are after.
I will get some pics of the engine compartment and up front for you Thanks

I am reducing price down to $5000 dollars. That is not a bad price considering the new ones are selling for $50,000 dollars.
The boat is in good shape considering its age,I am putting 4 brand new $400.00 trailer tires on it and checking all bearings and hubs. I installed new carpeted trailer bunks and new $1500.00 silver and black carbon fiber look interior in it last year.
As soon as weather warms up, I will be going over engine compartment, cleaning and polishing gelcoat and making some changes so price may go back up.
I also have some extra parts such as spare lower unit with 1 hour on it,new steering rams,Team G intake,Ceramic coated headers, and a $1700.00 stainless steel Mercury offshore cleaver prop that will go with it.
This is a 70 MPH boat even with a small block in it! or 80 plus with a big block !
I would really like to see this boat go to someone that knows what to do with it!

That is a giveaway price in my book. If you were closer the 496HO that I was selling would be going into it, but I have a buyer coming to pick it up Saturday. Best of luck. Bill

Thanks Bill,

I really am back and forth about even selling it , I have been running a construction business for a friend who has some health issues,so My time is very limited right now. The time I have has been going more towards fishing.

I have decided to take boat off the market at this time,I am in the process of upgrading the trailer, brakes, and hubs and going through the boat to fix any minor issues before I relist it again. The weather is breaking and I will have a chance to go over it and get it cleaned up to my satisfaction.

Mike,
That is an extremely nice and rare boat! What is your top speed with that engine/drive package? I am shocked that you don't have a buyer soon after your ad was online. Bill

Hey Bill,

How have you been ? I just dont have the time for it anymore, but sure will miss the boat if she sells !

I saw speeds a tad shy of 90 in full race setup, mid 80s with conservative setup but cant tell you how many so called 100+ mph boats I beat on a regular basis.

With this motor, should still be 80 plus setup

I see you are selling a boat also ,Did you ever get to try out that bronze cleaver ?

Hope all is well.

Mike

Man blackboat that Sutphen is cool. I think your hull formed the basis for Sutphen's new 21 SS which is a great performer. Other folks probably know all about it but what is the story with that drive?

Mike,

All is well here. I gave up on the Magnum project and that was going to be where the SSMII and the bronze cleaver (very nice prop) would have been installed. I wish you luck, but at the price you are asking I'm guessing it will sell quickly. Take care, Bill

Thanks Bill, to say he was happy was an understatement !!!
I was aactually a little sad to see it go , felt like a piece of me went down the road with it.

I cleaned house and threw in some extra parts

Tuned Ceramic Coated headers
Extra steering cylinders
Gimbal maintanance kit
Extra lower unit 1:32 gears
Aeroquip steering hose
Extra mini starter
Accel super coils
Team G intake and spacer

At least I have more room in the garage !!

Greg

I rigged that drive back in 1992, put it as high as I could without getting in to the moulding. I was cash poor and had to do everything on a budget, even made my own trim indicator.

I'm glad to hear someone else on this forum enjoys fishing. I am taking my wife and her family out fishing and arrowhead hunting tomorrow. Cruising can be fun, but it is not what we typically do anymore. Enjoy the Wellcraft CC - they made some nice boats. Bill
