I am installing my new Gill manifolds and risers this weekend and just wondering if anyone has any tips? For example, do the gaskets go on dry? I assume I would want to use some anti-sieze on the studs? Any idea on the torque specs? Fix had mentioned on OSO that it was like 30lbs or something like that? But I was not sure if that was just the riser torque specs or the manifold bolt torque specs as well? Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Merc manifold spec for a merc cast iron exhaust is 25-26 lb-ft.

What is the exhaust made of?

Hardin's cast alum. replacements for the gil call for 30 lb-ft.

Gaskets are dry and a compound on the studs/bolts is always a good idea. I don't think I ever torqued a manifold.

Sounds good, so just make them tight and call it good? The exhaust is the Gill wet offshore exhasut. Cast aluminum and stainless risers.

And just to clarify, both riser and manifold gaskets go on dry? Thanks

People say I'm a little "Anal" BUT

On BBC Retangular port heads/Gil I use
Felpro 1410
Hylomar sealant
Stagered, 15#,20#s,25#s then final 30#s, go through a heat cycle then 30#s again
