The hull definitely looks like it could have originally been a Cig 24 or Mag 25 .

Sure looks like it's running nicely. The angle of attack is beautiful.

It is a 1995 Python w/540. It will run 83 everyday and a best of 86 GPS.

The Donzi Hornet III got me going on the performance boat thing. In the end, the boat just was just not fast enough at 70 mph. Sorry if I posted in the wrong section. Relax and have a beer!

The smaller pythons were copies of the classics I seem to remember the 24 python hull was a copy of the 24 pantera hull.

I thought the Python 24 used the Cig 24 hull ......

Darn....I saw a 26 or so Velocity yesterday and that was going to be my new guess.

Have seen some discussion that the pantera superboat 24 hulls were taken
from the unsold 23 Excalibur hull. If you go to the pantera site there are pics of the 24 one of them is almost the exact shot angle of ft's first pic add the
10 percent rule and add the molded windshield ontop of the fairing. Looks
pretty close to me

My remark was based on seeing two Pythons (an 18 and a 24 ) at the MIBS in ...ok gonna test my brain cells here ... 1975 ?

'Course , we all know that the 18 was a knockoff of the 18C and didn't try to hide it . The 24 sure looked like a Cig 24 to me , and the guy said that was because that is what it originally was .

Didn't I read somewhere that DA gave a lot of 'help' to Pantera in its setup days ?

I thought the Python was a descendant of the Martini/Corsa 26, no? And thus is similarly skinny (7 foot beam).

Also, while I don't know, I believe the Banana, not the Python, is a descendant of the SECOND of the Cig 24s. (There were at least two different Cig 24s, from the early 70s and then from the late 70s, with the latter being called the Firefox at least in some years.) Both were 8 foot beams, or close. The early one had the teak deck and a full-height windshield you can sit entirely behind. The later one skipped the teak deck and had a much lower, fairing-style windshield. I don't know what, if anything, is different below the waterline. Very interested to know if anyone knows for sure.

IIRC Corsa was started by the guy who was once Don's right hand man/personal secretary Byng Goode (testing them brain cells again ..) who I once met on a tour of the Cig factory way back when .
I really liked his first boat , the 26 but I'm sceptical to think that he went down to a 7' beam as he knew well that Don's designs then were like they were for a reason ...

Conqustador del Mar can tell us--he has a Martini 26. I searched his thread about it and some things imply the boat is 7' wide, but I didn't find anything I'd call completely definitive. But all I did was search the thread for the word "beam" so my research was far from exhaustive.

Discussion of his boat primarily (and some others to a lesser extent) are where I got the 7 foot beam idea in my head, rightly or wrongly.

Found it. Martini was 7' beam, 25 ft centerline. So, IF Corsa was the same, I'd expect it was 7' also. In production anyhow. I don't know if people one-offed racing hulls.
