pickup on bottom of hull

did donzi install water pickup on bottom of hull on all trs boats and if not being used would you remove and patch it in

the early classics had a bottom pickups my 16 had one. it also came with a shut off valve incase the hose gave way

That's what mine has (bottom pickup with shutoff and a fitting for an exterior hose to plug in). Mine is a '70 18', and from what I can tell this is an original set up.

its a 79 22 it is a friend of my son inlaws boat nothing ever hocked up to bottom pickup it is using transom bottom mount is capped off in engine compartment
