Working to restore 1971 Donzi Outboard with my brother. We have removed the rub rail, removed the bow lifting eye, cut woven roving fiberglass ties around ski locker, and cut woven roving tabs near the transom that were accessible through the side hatches. Deck appears to be ready to lift in the front of the boat, but will not budge at transom. In fact, come along lifted whole boat off the trailer rather than the deck.

Is there more to this project? Do you have to make some fiberglass cuts at the transom? And advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Mike

There are tabs in the seating area remove the floor locker you should be able to see them. Also see if there are tabs along the gunwale hull to deck. My 16 had a repair made and the port side had the deck and hull glassed together

How are you going with the deck removal.

The deck came off the boat yesterday. I used a hydraulic jack and some blocks of wood back by the transom to pop it open. That was the good news. Bad news is it looks like the transom will have to be replaced. Plywood is water damaged at the top of the transom. Next step is to remove the gas tank. I planned to do my own fiberglass work, but I'm thinking it may be wise to get a professional to rebuild the transom. I will take a few pictures and post them today.
Thanks,
Mike
