I guess I should have put the ;p smiley on my post or a link to the dubliners singing the unicorn song. Looks very much like a Vance tub

That boat was in the Ft Lauderdale CL for months this summer/fall for $400. I wonder if it went up North w/owner, somebody bought it, or its a scam. The 225 would be worth more than $300 except they did not make a 225 in 1985. Plus that engine looks a lot like a 84 or 85 Johnson, not a rude.

Alright, let's speak English here ;). Is this not a Donzi? Did they not make a 16 in 1989?

I grew up on Lake Erie, so I can appreciate a decent fish boat. I was just discussing this boat with a Donzi friend, and we both agreed that it would make a nice bonfire starter.

Great idea Todd!....We can start by pulling some of the logs off and out of Lake Cubberland to get the fire started...you sure have enough of them to spare!

Matty, from the Spanish to English translator:

"If. To be clear that did not make a 16 IN 1989"

Si means "if"? lol

What we have here is a bonfire pit. Yay.

Is this your boat, Scott? If it is, then I apologize for insulting what is definitely not one of your better chop jobs. If it isn't, then what the hell does slamming on the home lake of AOTH have to do with it? Nothing. Funny thing, last time you were there, you seemed to have a pretty good time, including taking home a pretty significant piece of Aronow history, so save it, okay?

I hope to make it there sometime soon Todd... Hear nothing but great things about your event ( some people just have to be wads)
The owner of the chopped up 16 called me today. He said its all there and when I questioned it and said that Donzi never made a 16 center console, He got all defensive and hung up on me...:):)

That's what you get when you really really want an El Pescador but only have the coin for a used C16 .

Sadly he should have just kept the boat like it is and just fished out of it. I wouldn't even want to think about standing up and driving a 16 in any type of water. Now that would be a weird feeling.

Okay, maybe it's not an 89...maybe it's an 86 ? or 88 ? or 79 ?... I dunno....but isn't it a Donzi 16 hull? There has got to be 300 bucks worth there. Helluva project to make somthing like.....6926969270

If it didn't cost so much to bring her north I'd consider this. Am I missing somthing?

Where there is a will there is a way. But at what cost?

mattyboy

Woobs
you are missing the fact that they did not make a 16 in the 80s( they made one 16 in 1980 then maybe one or two may have been started in 89 for the 90 model year would have a 90 HIN ) and during that time a lot of 16 copies were made. Without a valid HIN who knows what this is

As I said it looks like a Vance tub liner

Fair enough...The current owner has no idea of what this really is but, do we know it does not have a HIN stamped/moulded in the transom? Does the seller have paperwork?
Even if it does not have a visable HIN, and it is a splashed hull...gotta be worth $300!
I'm jus sayn' without "eyes on" in person by someone that knows...who knows?
Maybe I'm just a sucker that wants to "save 'em all"...lol

Seriously, if this were a 22 I'd be making phone calls... don't tell my wife (she thinks 2 boats are enough) :)

mattyboy
