Just putting some thoughts together for next year.

A couple of years ago, bunch of us got together and did a run from Canaveral to Capt. Hirams in Sebastian. That run was about 50 miles and was great running. We had a great party at Capt. Hiram's which has a hotel, restaurant, docks, live music, outdoor bars.

Anyways, I am thinking of doing this again this coming year. Say in May or June.

What I had in mind, but couldn't put together last time, was having two groups converge at Hiram's. One from the north and one from the south. Starting locations to be determined. Stuart to Hiram's is about 50 miles and Jupiter is about 75 miles.

Looking for interest from the group and also a co-sponsor/leader of the south contingent.

Let me know what you think. :boat:

We would love to participate. Our starting point would be in Vero Beach, Capt. Hiram's is about 15 miles from there. Please keep us posted on the plans.

Sounds very doable. I am in Jensen Beach right now, but may be back in Homestead by May or June, but still close enough.

Some more info. would be great Bob. Do we stay at the hotel and head back the next day or do we have somebody run up with our tow package and meet us? Inshore, Offshore, or both?

Nick,

This would be an overnighter. Run one day, go to Hiram's, eat, drink, party, sleep. Run back the next day.

Cool....give us details and $$ for hotel please. Sounds like a blast considering our last run was gale force winds.

Destin and Sebastian are about 300 miles apart but I see your point if you had already driven 1000 miles. Rooms in June are $129-159/night FYI which seems VERY reasonable for how nice this place looks...free breakfast as well. Sorry Bob, I had to add some details.:bonk:

We loved this last time. Hirams has great food and it's just a fun place to hang (drink your brains out).

One thing to note is we could have run more last time. We did lunch at Ichabods in Melbourne harbor which was fun. There are other places to eat in the area too. If we do the North/South run there is another place right by Hirams called Mulligans beach house. it's changed from what it was years ago when I was last there so I can't vouch for the food. Another is called squid lips. Can't vouch for that one either. I was at the former places many years ago (or maybe just one changed, one new??)

Another option could be to pack a picnic lunch and meet in the inlet, there is a cove off to the North that people hang out at.

I'd love to do this again... all depends on time, money, and the family.

We will see what the future holds and see if we can put something together as the time gets nearer.

Yep, its a good run on the intercoastal with a good destination. My memory is coming back. We could see the launch pad! It was some hot in July. Vette had 3 generations there I think and a new boat!

Hirams...
