Two questions?

First,
I just bought 4" thru hull angle cut exhaust tips for my 18....they look huge!!! What size do you have on your Donzi?

Second,
Does anyone know if there is a paint code for the Red Shelby GT? I know it is gel-kote but any help would be great!

Most are 4".

Many would find the straight cut pipes more useful as it is possible to insert internals silencers, or bolt on some clamp on silencers.
Either of these is impossible w/slash cut pipes, but they do look cool.
Initially I had slash cut pipes on the Minx, but the sound level and the inability to do something about it led me to change to external mufflers.

I gave away a set of angle cuts, be careful around them they will bloody you in a heart beat.

As to the red color, the color I used on the '88 TR isn't the original '88 red, but the early '02-'04 (or so) Donzi red used on the Arronow Edition because it has a lot of orange in it.
I had it matched for BASF R-M UNO HD high end acrilyc-polyurethane two part, single stage paint.
I have the formula for this paint if you want it.
It's sitting on my desk in my office. I'll post it if you wish.
There aren't generally any codes though.

The 4" do have internal flappers but nothing to quiet them done. They just looked massive!

Thanks George for the offer but I am looking to have a little resemblance to the Shelby color. May intentions are to paint the sides red, bottom white, top white with the same red for the stripe(s).
The color kinda reminds me of Ferrari Rosso Fiorano but my paint chip is small and looks a little darker! I guess I have to set up some time with my paint supplier to mix up variations and go home a paint some test panels.

You'll notice there're two reds, the '02 red I'm using and the later red.
Also notice they're having a sale and have significantly lowered their pricing.

the older boats had 3 inch tips. the color on the shelby was brandywine i believe.

The Shelby's were all white boats with paint. I believe Donzi was using PPG paint at this time, although they were going through a switch from BASF. Since they are basically show down maybe you could find the color in a PPG listing. At the time they were looking at the 3 stage PPG stuff.

I think there were some Shelby's mostly gel, at least based on the looks. The metallic ones were definitely paint, but I've seen a few non-metallic boats that look like gel with painted stripes. Seems like the ones that appeared to be gel were early boats.

Many SBC had 3" pipes, easy enough to tell or convert to 4" with new risers. Both my Scarab and my Baja had slash cuts. The internal flappers burn out pretty fast so be carefull with water intrusion if you anchor often. I got tired of them and cut the tips straight and put Salisbury flaps on them...no more worries. With the Donzi I have Capt'n call and I just set it to quiet when I anchor offshore that way no water can flush back up my pipes, even though I have flaps as well.

My captains call always shuts off when I turn the key off. i.e., if there is no power to the ignition, the exhaust goes to open.

Not to hijack this thread, but just one quick question for biggiefl and VetteLT. I have the captain's call on my 22C, but when I flip the switch nothing happens. I am pretty sure that I need to buy a solenoid for it to work. Did you guys experience this problem at first, and if so, what was the solution? I don't want to waste my money on a solenoid for nothing.

The solenoids are fed by a large relay.
You might want to start there.

Bobby mine stay closed which is nice because I beach it and move it during tidal drops, etc and I don't have to keep hitting the switch. Mine is the Mercruiser one and the rams stay in their spot until the actuator tells it to do otherwise.

Rocky You need to start at the front and move back with a test light or meter like George said. Can you move the rams manually? Do you hear the PIFFT of air when you hit the switch(engine off). Mine were a bit stiff and require frequent greasing of the shafts. i had a couple bushings(?) go bad and they are like $20 ea but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. That system is mucho $$$ so do what you can to get it working again. I would start a thread about it...people here will get you figured out.
