Although I sold my Donzi to my brother to buy the fountain I am still in charge of all upgrades since I put so much work into I want it done right so when I buy it back it's perfect The red along with the black stripe top and bottom was repainted, so we decided to order the Shelby hatch from Josh, Perfect 10 experience dealing with Donzi Direct as well. I figures since everyone seems to love pictures I would share this one, we should have the boat back today so I will upload a few more then

Best looking hatch ever designed for a Donzi . . .

Ditto and really not a bad price considering what you get for $850. To make that scoop and paint it and hope it holds together would cost more than buying from Josh. I just don't have that kind of disposable these days....lucky I was allowed to buy mine in August by the boss. If I wanted a new hatch I bet new jewelry would have to be bought as well...DOOF!

Matty that is not bad

but seems too massive a scale for the job
you only need clearance for the middle
so carrying the scoop to the edges is not necessary

less is more . . .

also the Shelby hatch has more taper and detail in the front . . .

How much more room did it give you, I have come clearance issues with the 502 EFI under the hatch on my L.E. Thinking about headers as well.

This is also the B/H edition I had to have CMI make custom header's just to go under the stock hatch, I wish I would have gone this route first since the headers were upward of 4G but this hatch would allow stock height CMI's to work. This is a Pic of the custom headers

Did you keep the center hatch latch or go with the twin latches on the Shelby lid???

Does he drill post paint? I would think he would have done that first. Maybe its a hidden release like those hot rods have.

He actually is going to put the latches in last on the left and right hand side just like the shelby hatch as for cutting the wholes first Im not to sure why he didn't but since they wont be in the paint I doubt it would matter, but he did have to complete re-gelcoat the hatch since in can almost "snow" white and did not match the boat at all, but I figured that would happen being as it is a 1997 Im sure donzi has changed white gelcoat colors many time's since then

I would like to keep it simple, less hardware, center latch!

I cut, sand, then paint. Just my technique. :smash:

Now a hidden release, Hummmm make one think!
