It is so cool! All solid state and about the size of a DVD box. It can be tethered to a smart phone or any wifi source. I didn't like carrying the full size lap-top around and it can't take the beating. I will have access to real time weather radar now! Like this:

I bought Laine a net book. It has a huge hard drive and reasonable ram. The biggest drawback is it comes w/Windows 7 Starter and has problems opening certain web sites, like this one. I'll be upgrading soon. Like you said, it tethers and works like any PC. Of course it can be also be used as a reader and the battery is good for about 9 hours. I doubted that at first, but it's true.
They are really useful.

I bought Laine a Dell 10.5" Mini

I actually just upgraded to a tablet. (I need to sell my Dell Mini if anyone wants one). I like the little mini but the tablet is more useful for me, it seems to be able to do everything the mini did + more for regular use. Navionics has an app that is pretty sweet for Droid, plus all the other basic tab features.

I put Windows 8 on the mini and it's ok. If my mini had a touchscreen I would want to keep it for sure. Windows 8 on a mini with a touchscreen would be killer.

My next task is to find a wiring diagram for MEFI... I want to make a smartcraft App:) If anyone has it please post it up!!
