I know there's a bunch of other car guys on here, and I had to share my good news.

My '37 Chevy Kustom I finished this past year will have a feature in the next issue, # 53 of The Rodders Journal...I'm out of control excited.

Steve Coonan came out to my place for 2 days shooting the car, and Pat Gahnal did the writting for it...just doesn't get any better than that!!

Check out the preview...

It's got a Nailhead / 700R4 / 9"...

It's supposed to be a 12 page feature.
I should be getting an early copy from hem this coming week...looks like I'll be camped out by the mailbox for a few days! haha

I'm a ford person so I had to look up nailhead and 700R4 :). Sooo, the nailhead is a '50s OHV Buick V8 up to 425 cubes. What size is your nailhead? The 700R4 is a 4 speed OD that superseded the Turbo 400. The Ford 9" rear of course I know all about!

-----Noticed you were from Rochester. I went to school in Marion for four years. Many good memories of those years and the area. I already had seen your car as I have a subscription and WOW, it is a very cool 37. My first car was the same model 38 way back in 1961. I was 14! For those that dont know about "The Rodders Journal" it is the ultimate compliment when your car gets featured. I have every issue back to number 1, and spend at least 3 evenings reading every last word and relishing the high quality pictures. Big congratulations.........Bill S

THM 700R4 replaced the THM 350, not the 400.
I cut my teeth on transmission design when I was contracting for Hydramatic as I was in the 700R4 group.
The replacement for the 400 was coming along at that time (1986/87). I can't even remember the model number for it, but it was also a 4 speed OD transmission. One of the unique features of that transmission was the OD planetary gearset was 1st in line after the torque converter and pump to allow it to be of sufficient size to hold up to conditions found in military trucks.

Thanks again guys...

This one took me 4 winters, but I was able to drive it summers in between and enjoy it.
I always build cars I can drive the heck out of!
