Gotta be more going on here than I can see. The first pic didn't look so bad...typical grounding on a sand bar. But it looks like they never made an attept to salvage her; just went straight to breaking her up.

Must be an enviromental hazard and there are $$$$$ to be made by removing.
I bet the really good stuff has already been stripped and what is left will
be salvaged when the scrap is back home at seatoe.

Things are seldom pretty when seetoe is involved but they usually make a profit.

I think they salvaged it because of the numbers game. I'm not sure but it looks like an early 80's hatteras... unless it was extensively updated the value could be in the 150-250k range. add a bunch of work to it, it's just more economical to just total it and salvage the parts.

During the "Luyxury Tax" days, it was a big business to salvage and rebuild older sprtfishermen and motor yachts, in many cases it was cheaper to do so than pay the tax on a new boat.

gotta think if you were going to reassemble it you wouldn't use a backhoe to do the disassembly
