it is not denoyer's "sting" from Lake George which is a challenger, it is a benchseat hornet a member of the LGDCC just had restored "the Sting" was the boat's original name playing on the Hornet theme.

neat plate now all we have to do for Paul is get a small LGDCC prop logo to cover the picture of NY State.

It is believed to be one and the same , the 19 2+3 hornets came in around the 40 ish hull numbers.
There is a story that Hull numbers were enhanced to make the sale more appealing to Teleflex. There's a good possibility that a significant number less were actually produced.

It also seems that when the 2+3 went into production in 68 ish they took over but a benchseat or two were popped as late as the early 70's
