So how many of you are familer with Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries?
Fairly new technology, but really cool. I just picked one up for my Speed Triple. You simply have to hold it in your hand to believe how small and light it is.
I didn't weigh it (I don't have a scale at home that will go that low) but it can't be more than a pound or two. It measures in at about 4"w x 3.5"t x 2.25"d. Almost half the size of the AGM battery I had in the bike before. And it cranks the bike over faster than ever.
For reference, here's a pic of the old and new side by side. Remeber, the 'old' battery isn't exactly huge to start with since it's a bike battery.
Not a lot of use for boats, though they do offer bigger versions that will work for cars. I suppose if I ever get that Lotus I've been wanting I might consider one for that. Mostly I just think it's really cool.
