I have 2 boats with I believe stainless exhaust tips that should shine. They have like a dulling film on them. I have tried 6 different chrome and metal cleaners to no avail. I can scratch with my nail and it comes off. How do you guys keep them shiney????? Thanks

Lime-Away or a similar product will clean it. To look shiney most/all of the time, the tips will need to be cleaned often.

Vinegar. Trust us on this and a huge bottle costs very little at Costco. You will be amazed how vinegar wipes the tips clean!!

I have also used CLR or Lime Away with great results. I could see how white vinegar would also work, as it does wonders for coffee makers, and be much cheaper! I'll try that next time.

my tips stay clean and shinny for some reason,,, not due to any special cleanning solutions, maybe its the saltwater i run in,,, i just rince the boat off and shammie dry than cover it I waxed it in may to start the season off

This stuff works great, with out having to sacrifice your salad dressing.

It removes all bluing and tarnish

After about total 3 hours time and about $30 of automotive products I used white vinegar and was done in 10 minutes. Thanks so much.

Ditto the votes for Flitz.

But I will have to try out the white vinegar, however, to compare.

Prolly cuz vinegar costs a couple bucks for a gallon and a half at costco and literally wipes them clean in seconds! :)
