wind protection

I have a 2006 shelby and need to extend the windsheild. I've sent some videos and pics of similar boats with what appears to be a clamp on wind sheild extention. Anyone know where I can find this or something similar?

You have to look close to see them but they are on there! I have tested them to over 85 mph and they really do stop the wind. I only use them on cooler days. http://www.windaway.com/

I took your advice and ordered one of these. What crap I rec'd. The shield is a thin flimzy plastic that is NOT a see through plastic. It's gray, textured plastic nothing like what's in your picture. And $70 bucks for this?

Biz, I am sorry to hear that. If you don't like it and it's not what is shown on their web site I would send it back. Can you post a pic? I'd really like to see one. Here is a better pic of mine and they hold up in the mid 80s. BTW, it took 2 days to post this reply with the server issues....

Anyway, I wanted to add that I think they are better suited for the aluminum fairings like I have which of course are thinner and lower than the standard windshield.

Greg, quote function not working. Mine are Wind-Aways. I posted a link earlier in this thread. If they are shipping colored and textured plastic now then that sucks because one thing I like about them is that they are nearly invisible and only go on for cool days or long, fast cruises.

I just discovered that the plastic has a cover to peel off. It is a clear sheet. Note to self......read the directions

Several of us have used the "Saeng MicroSwirl Edging", which is a peel & stick reverse venturi usually used on motorcycle windshields.

It won't provide you with as tall of a wind-free bubble like the Wind-Aways, but if you need an extra 6 inches it is easy to apply and barely noticable, looks-wise.

At 5' 11", the wind used to dump right at eye level on me. Now, with the MicroSwirl Edging, it clears the top of my head perfectly!

If you have the aluminum fairing, when you put them on raise the clamps very slightly so the screw boss isn't resting on the top of the windscreen. Otherwise it will wear through the paint.

I used it this weekend and it worked beautifully. Really reduced the wind and wind noise. Probably going to order another for the other side now that I am comfortable they work.

That is pretty impressive Chachi, amazing what a little "curve" will do to redirect the wind at high speeds like that.
