Can anyone give any recommendations on places to stay on the lake? We would like to bring our 18 to a new lake and havent been there yet.I would say the south end if possible because we are coming up from jersey. And any places that are must sees or should know abouts. We arent looking to fancey just nice and clean for a long weekend.I looked around on the internet but I am banking on other boaters ideas. If anyone has any other lakes that are must go to's always open to new ideas,we spend alot of time in lake george camping on the islands, and have a great time. Thanks

Two places that I have stayed on Winni are Christmas Island (www.christmasresort.com) and Ames Farm...(www.amesfarminn.com)

Christmas Island is a bit nicer but pricey IMO and Ames Farm is a little more basic but prices reasonable....

Christmas Island is on the southern end of lake , Ames is a bit farther north but not to far from Christmas Island..

Meredith is a great town to visit while you are there, you can go by boat or car and also Wolfeboro is a nice little town and you can go by boat or car there also....lots of places and things to see around lake, great food places around lake also...

Just a FYI they have noise regs. up there 90db (I think) and a 150FT rule which they inforce a lot so be prepared....also the lake can get pretty snotty at times also....all that being said its a great lake and you should have a great time....

Here is a link to the NH boaters guide. pretty standard stuff, but covers laws that may not be applicable in your state. You should give it a quick read:yes:

I think that should cover the stuff specific to NH

There are a couple of camp ground in Meredith, they are not on lake Winni but real close, as in you could throw a stone close:). The public access boat landing is located in Meredith:boat:.
