i have a 290 on a old 24 degree boat i run a 14.5x23lh ss from bronson and hill at 5200 to 5500 and a 400 hp chevy vortec motor what size solas should i get to match up a 21 or 23 pitch ,thank you

With a real world 400hp you may like a 23. Where do you boat? Maybe someone local can let you try one or the other to help decide.

I have a 14.5x23 Hill Bronson Thrasher too. That is a nice prop. I like it up to about 50+ mph, then it gets a little squirley, but still controllable. I agree, go with a Solas 23.

are you looking to keep the rpms where you're at now??

a 23 solas will lower your rpm by 100-200 rpm

a 21 solas will keep you in the area you're at now

on a 1.6 drive spinning a 23 solas to 5000 will have you in the mid to high 60's

i want to stay between 5300 and 5500 so i should get a 21 and run it were could i find a good deal on a solas or should i get a 23 boat weight is about 2600 dry 5100 to 5500 is max power i want to stay in between them.
