several years ago, I was in Bermuda. On July 3rd, I got a $35 parking ticket, I asked the clerk at the courthouse if they would be open the following day so I could pay the ticket.

She said " Yes, we're open, it's Wednesday"
I said "But, it's the 4th of July "
She said " And what is the significance of the 4th of July ?" in a gruff tone
I said " It's Inde - pen....dence, never mind, see ya tomorrow !"

I forgot they're a Brittish colony, she took delight in reminding me.
