Hi everybody, I live in Argentina, south america, a long time has gone by since the last time I posted here, but however I always read yours.
I posted before that I was restoring a bermuda cobra boat (its a Donzi 16 copy)
My doubt is if the real Donzi measures 16 feet exactly or its called that way because its lenght its near the 16 feet? Im asking this cause my Bermuda Cobra measures almost 17 feet (more precisely 16,7)
Sorry for the silly question but where I live I havn't seen any Donzi 16

My boat has a chevrolet V8 5,0 small block with an edelbrock equipment, a stainless steel admission with a volvo 270.

Im doing the last details of the boat, I leave you here a few videos of the first seconds of the engine start up, I hope you like it, and any technical information you can provide me I will be very thankful.

Do you have water hooked to it?
I noticed the exhaust is dry.

The boat looks really good.
Well done!

You are right, as we turned on the engine for a few seconds we did not hooked water at all, and also the engine had some water in it. It was just to test the start up. Next week im going to try it in the water for some hours

thanks gcarter!!

The Donzi 16 actually measures the same as your boat.
16 foot 7 1/2 inches.
Donzi called it a "16" but it is actually a bit longer.

Great Boat ~~~

Careful running the motor without water for any length of time. I am unfamiliar with that drive, but you WILL burn up the impeller on an Alpha drive if you run the engine for ANY length of time without water.

funny how a guy remembers the firing order. I cant remember someones name 10 seconds after I hear it, but Ive always remembered 18436572.

I also agree with you. It may be because the boat was running inside or the engine was cold, but it sure sounded like it isnt runnuing smoothly. Check the valves, firing order, and timing again, WAPO.

Thanks so much for the advices, I really pay attention to your comments. Next week as I told you before I will check the fireing order and watch more carefully the valves. Or maybe it was also the fit room where we start it up and the sound seemed to be akward.
By the way, how much horsepower does the volvo 270 resists? approximately

ps. in a few days i'll upload a new video (OK OK. in water :))

What makes it sound a tad strange or off tune is the resonators, it is only the second boat I have seen with them. Last was a boat I posted on up here quite a few years back that was suppose to have been owned by Elvis.

It is great that you joined Donzi.net
I hope you do decide to stay on this web forum here with us.
It would be great to hear from you and your great speedboat from time to time.

It was 92* here in Philadelphia Pa. today !

Thank you all very much. For me is very important to be recieved like this. I never found here in Argentina a forum like yours. I'll search for Donzi pictures here, and i'll post them for you. If you need something from Argentina do not hesitate to ask.
