Finally had a chance to take a morning (6:30) run up to A-Bay (about 15 miles) to take a look at the boats that had just run the Poker Run the day before.

Sorry for the shadow.

Ken how was the poker run? Tried to make it over but ended at the cottage on the Big Rideau. First run for the 16. I may have to get a pic of my speedo at its limit. I wonder if my girl could hold the camera still to take the pic.:nilly:

Norm, I never really saw the poker run boats run.
Saw the blast by my camp, but due to the honey do list, I never made on the water Saturday while the run was taking place.

As mentioned, I shot up to A-Bay early Sunday to grab a look and there was probabally 20-25 boats docked in the area of the public dock. Oddly, most of the registrations of the boats were Canadian, only 3-4 US registered boats.

I was told 35-40 boats had entered the event.

Norm, I think we would all like to see a photo of your needle at full stick .

I would think by now Loretta knows how to hang on. Snapping a photo would just add to the challenge for her.

As long as they are in transit in Canadian waters, they have no problem.

Looking forward to watch these guys run in again.

Fishermanjm, come up to watch these guys.

Ken the August 1000 Islands Run uses Canadian and International/Shared channels only. The section between Ironsides Shoal and Crossover Island (Singer Castle is in between) is International, the rest is Canadian.
Last weeks Abay 1000 Island Poker Run ean through the Canadian Channel to avoid the idle zone from Abay to the Bridge, but it was a direct, non-stop route.

Norm, I would be a lot further along isf the weather just co-operated once in a while.

Getting my FIL's Grady was the big hold up.

I guess that was not othe honey do list.

Yes you can, I've heard it's a beautiful trip.

Greg, you can also get there by taking the Lake Champlain Canal from the Hudson into Lake Champlain, head north to Montreal, then take a left on the St. Lawrence or you can just take the Atlantic along the east coast until you get to Nova Scotia and of course you would have to take a left.

Bring a lunch no matter which route you choose.

The east coast might get rough, been out there many times between NFLD and Nova Soctia pulling cod nets. Make for some great big air shots. Don't get tossed in you may last 10 min if you are lucky. Cold! Cold! Cold!

I think I'll stick with the Lake Champlain route then, the Mule does not like its waters too cold. It asks for a blanket :hyper:
