Fontana Lake NC

Anybody done any boating here. Looks like I will be spending sometime close to here. Went out to investigate in a car and there are several marinas. Any advice would be appreciated. Got caught in a wicked hail storm near the dam.

Never boated there but have back packed and camped around it. Really beautiful but not easy to get to. Have read about a tributary stream near the dam that is great for fly fishing for trout. A really deep lake. Bet you are the only nonfishing boat on the water. Certainy the only performance boat.

The "Dragon" is close if you have a motorcycle or sports car - be careful!
