I need to remove the Donzi decal / sticker from the sides of my hull. Thought I would heat them and scrape off with a single edge razor blade. Will a hair dryer be sufficient or I have a heat gun that gets hot enough to stripe paint. Would the heat gun be too hot? Any suggestions?

Not telling you anything you don't know, but I'd start with no heat and work my way up. The last decals (admittedly, not on fiberglass, but still) I tried just peeled off and cleaned up with a little GooGone.

Ronsonol Lighter Fuel will cut most any adhesive and remove the residue.
Cheap and I have yet to see it harm any surface.
Most 7-11 stores

I have used a hair dryer with geat success to soften the adhesive..
I don't think you will need the razor blade,
Pull decal back on itself to the side to avoid any gel damage from pulling it straight out..

Honestly, if the decal sits in the sun for a while it should get soft enough to come off. No razor blades. Pull up a chair and work it with one hand and a cold one in the other. ;)
Mineral spirits will help with any glue residue.

Lose the mineral spirits and that's just another Saturday night...

I haven't tried Donzi decals, but I'd start just trying to lift an edge with a razor blade then peeling carefully back. Heat may help.

If that doesn't work, or it leaves too much residue, step up to something like goo-gone or the lighter fluid.

On some extremely old and baked-on stripes on my 89 Carver (8" wide, about 20' long) I was having a heck of a time with plastic scrapers, razors, etc and used a 3M product called 'woodgrain stripe remover'. Not sure if it's still in production as I haven't seen it recently and 3M isn't real user-friendly with a lot of stuff. You'd find it at an auto-body supply place most likely.

Pep Boys Auto Stores carry small cans of this 3M product in their paint & body supply section.

If you must scrape sharpen a plastic ice scraper, put #220 on a flat surface that keeps the edge true. I have replaced a ton of boot stripping at the dealership using a heat gun on low, once removed wipe down with acetone you are ready for the new ones. Added note when working on aluminum machined surfaces the plastic scraper is the absolute best!

I would use one of these:

a plastic razor blade
and some of this:

this stuff makes lighter fluid, goo-b-gone, and all those other products look like you're playing with your pud and I've never had it damage a finish. Some freaky 3M technology.

I just used a new product by turtle wax (label and decal remover) work's great just spray on wait and slowly removes decal and glue. You may have to spray several coats but it worked great. purchased at auto zone.

If the decal say's "Bayliner" - just dispose of everything the decal is attached to. :kingme:
