The Boar Hog/ Leventain has been located which was the sister boat to the 29-9 which onlly 5 were built was set up for outboard, it has been redone to just an overpowered 29 ft hull and is located in Georgia. I will post pictures along with originals of it when I get them ...sad it is no longer part of history.

I did strip all the parts off of the 29-9 last week in Naples and they are being shipped up here for reconditioning.Roger Munn is working on putting the original 427/496 back together, still need to find some missing parts.Should be running in a couple of weeks.

Decided not to go back to the Kinsler fuel injection which was stolen when it was on the west coast, because it just takes to much effort to keep them running smooth. In left the factory with twin Holley's and will use a Dominator and new manifold made specially for the 427 which Roger located.

The 29-9 will be painted this fall back to its original Tangerine color engine ,crash box,tabs,#3 drives will be installed and will come back to Illinois for final rigging, hopefully on a newer trailer that it sits on now. The Trailer is the original from 1973 and must weigh 10,000 lbs...anyone looking to hall a tank.

Plan on having it ready from some of the vintage events in 2012 as Thumper Too and Head Hunter with original drivers and throttle men listed on each side.. I will keep you up to date on the progress. Have attached some recent photos .Bud

Bud,

When we spoke about your Mag 29.9 you mentioned how light the hull was, something like 2800 lbs. almost half the weight of a 27 sport........any idea of what (fabrics & resins) they used back then to bring her in that race light?......Can't imagine it could've been with Polyester, CSM & WR......... anyway, good luck with the restoration..........I definety would like to see her race when you come to NY.

We plan on weighing the hull as soon as we can,and then see how it was layed up. Will need to talk to Bronnie or McCarthy who were at Magnum then. Bud
