Well, A little moisture in the oil on the 496 Stroker.
Was told when I bought the boat that it was too much motor for stock iron mercruiser exhaust. Live & learn.

My fix was an older set of Gill Offshore Dry exhaust in excellent condition.
Turned out pretty good. Had to have a buddy fabricate some aluminum wedges so the existing transom holes could be used. Otherwise the holes would have been moved up 6" or so and that just wasn't an option.

Diamond Performance in Delaware had a sweet set of transom rings to finish it off. They had to be big enough to fit over the water dump fitting.

I had to take the T-Stat out. The old gils need alot of water flow to keep them cool and that skinny little by-pass hose just could not provide enough flow when t-stat was closed. I have some Moroso Restrictor Plates with various openings to try this weekend.
Boat was loud before but ridiculous now. Might need some cheap slip-ins.
