The US has missile interceptors....
They are fired and track and collide with an incoming missile, destroying them in the upper atmosphere

Problem is the missile defense system that all the brew ha ha is about is deployed in Europe, no question we have stuff here but can it stop a barrage. 65 foot deep silos house a pretty big rockets, though as stated the immediate threat will be to our south American allys.
