Recently bought a 22 classic and the electrical system is intermittent at best. Tired of chasing electrical bugs. I want to replace the wiring harness. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any suggestions? Where did you get the harness? Did you buy or fabricate it yourself?

It's funny you asked this question as I just posted the following info on another thread;

Another solution is to purchase one of these universal Merc/Omc engine wiring warnesses. They come w/the plug, correct size and color, and it's 6' long. The good news is the price is less than $80.00.

The corresponding "round to square" piece, 20' long is less than $100.00.

And then the pigtail for under your dash, 10' long, is less than $30.00.

I went this route on the TR and it saved me ton of trouble. I didn't use the square connectors for the dash end because I used terminal strips, but the wire sizes and colors were correct, new, and in good condition.

I hope this helps.
