The port of Hamburg celebrated its 822(!) birthday this weekend, beautiful weather, many beautiful vessels came to visit us, and I took the chance to start into boating 2011!
Boat runs nice after winter, it was so good to be on the water again, only thing which sucks is the price of gas...
Anyway, drove for about 3 hrs in different speeds, topped my highest (61mph) from last year with 63 gps (tailwind and tide ;-)), refilled it with 70 ltrs (18 gal).
Not to bad at all I guess.
Welcome boating season 2011!!

What a great way to begin the boating season.

Very economical @ 6 gallons per hour.

We (Michigan) are still getting leaves on the trees.

Looks like a great day Axel!

I like your new house.

thanks George, traditional 100 years old german farmers house. Haven't done anything outside yet except new windows, will be much nicer with new paint.

@ Bill:
Very economical @ 6 gallons per hour... I must admit, I had a 40 minutes break inbetween. Thought our season is linked, I have a friend in Ann Arbor, they have about the same weather now

Axel,
That looks like it would have been a very fun day. Was it hard to find a ramp that wasn't too crowded to launch your Donzi? Your boat looks great. Bill

Thanks Bill- your right, crowdy, but a friend told me about this spot where the hovercraft is located, that ramp is about 70ft wide and especially made for the hovercraft, so you can launch 6 boats at the same time, and a very nice location too with a small island close to the ramp so it is protected from big waves. I just have to drive 20 minutes to get there, did not know about this place before
(might wanna check 53°34'53.51"N, 9°36'16.23"E, beautiful pics about that area at google earth)
