You could always go with a SeaStar internal hydraulic steering system.
SeaStar is Not really a performance high-speed or race system; but it sure is a big step above the old sloppy & loose Teleflex push-pull cable systems.

Try to get hold of Mad Poodle over on Donzi.org he has had some luck with getting the wing plate, that is the main thing you will need. You can hook most any makers ram once you have the plate.

I installed this about 5 seasons ago. It is a Hydraulic assist. WPM (Warlock Performance Marine) in Corona, CA did the work. I am not sure if they are even still in business, although I know some custom shops in SoCal still use their parts.

System is tight as a drum. Installed it primarily for safety reasons.

Internal on a Volvo is kind of a waste of time, they develop to much play in the helmet. If you intend going fast go external!
