Anyone know the part number of the steering bezel?
Is this the Teleflex Big T helm?

Don't know the part number~~~
But that is a Teleflex Big-T helm & bezel.
Most marine supply houses carry the Teleflex Big-T steering parts.
The chrome bezel units can be a bit harder to find.
Were the chrome bezels not discontinued by Teleflex ?

I am almost positive that you will have to find a good one or have yours rechromed. When I restored my 1971 Donzi, I had mine rechromed since the new ones do not come in chrome. Bill

Yeh, I believe the chrome is discontinued. I wanted a part number just in case I call some places and ask. Supply houses and surplus places.

I was talking to George today about it and he suggested powdercoating it if the chroming is too expensive.

If you do want a chrome bezel and can't find a NOS chrome unit it may be easier to buy a new painted bezel assembly and strip the paint and have it tripple chrome plated.
That way you won't have to pay to have the pitting repaired.

Platers charge crazy money these days.

I think the EPA is the reason that platers charge so much. They use some really nasty chemicals.

The EPA excuse is what most platers use to justify their high prices~~~
I really don't buy into this~~

It's all about supply & demand.
Most platers have all the work they want & need based on the number of hotrod, streetrod, and antique car parts that people want plated.
If the demand for chrome plating ever goes down~~~
So will the plating prices.

It's really market driven in my opinion . Sure the EPA regulations has some effect~~~
But not as much as sone might think.
Commercial production plating prices have not really spiked that much despite the newer EPA regs.
