Registration opens THIS friday April 1st, we are limiting it to 60 boats this year, so it will fill up fast. This year is Hawaiian themed so break out the print shirts and grass skirts!

Had a few Donzi's last year, would love to see more.

I am going for sure...already booked my room!

I think that we should have our own unofficial Donzi get together the day before the Poker Run. Any other Donzis coming over?

I have to say I like the "Hawaiian" Theme though... Most old guys my age and slightly overweight like wearing loose fitting Hawaiian shirts and flip flops since we think chicks love that look (and it hides the spare tire). Should be a blast, we loved Chelan last year.

I'm hoping to be bringing over both Donzi's (25ZX and 18C). I don't think we are going to participate in the actual poker run, but we will be watching and partyin for sure.

Clean seats with Comet Gel...check (wow that stuff works)
wash down and clean interior...check

what is left...?
wash down and clean/wax exterior...
Drain old gas and re-fill with lead additive and 96 octane....
Clean out carpet...
Check out battery, engine systems, lights, trailer, tires...
Load with radio, fire extinguisher, etc...
Get SUV oil changed and cleaned...
Pack all our crap...

You're doing LCPR in a 16'???? WOW, I was told that it's a rough day on a 22C. And why are you using 96 octane fuel?

I was at Chelan last year with no problem...it was a fun time. On the higher octane, it is a balanced and blocked 289 HiPO engine built by an old legend (search for Dave Zueschel Hot Rod Hall of Fame) designed around leaded premium and is about 10.5:1 compression, hence the lead additive and I am still trying different levels of higher octane to see what runs best in it.

We all need to get the boats together for a Donzi float while we are there.

By the way, my dad used to take the boat 30 miles offshore to Catalina

Interesting. Is that why you have to add lead to the fuel as well? Do you have to do that everytime I assume, or just when you're looking for more performance? I think that is so cool your family has had that boat for so long. Lots of great stories I am sure. I grew up with a Donzi my entire life as well and I am sure it will never be sold, hopefully! Anyways, I am looking forward to seeing the boat out there. I was planning on bringing the 18C as well, but its not done yet so I'll be in the black 25 ZX. See you out there

We will be there Thursday evening and staying at the south end of the lake so maybe we can all get together. I will probably be the one in the ramp parking area with the engine hatch open and my legs hanging out while I work to get ready.

I was going to pull the heads and have the valve seats replaced to eliminate the need for lead additive but money (and cancer) changed our priorities this last year.

Last few days before the Chelan Poker Run...we are looking forward to seeing any other Donzis (and meeting their owners) this weekend.

(and if you see a little green Donzi stalled on the lake with the engine hatch lifted up...maybe throw me a tow line..)

We'll be there with our bells on. My nephew sold his yellow/blue 28ZX and Craig called yesterday and the Z33 isn't done so we will def be down at least 2 for this years run....

It was a great day for boating on Lake Chelan...The Poker Run was fun even though we came back to the dock a little early with the engine running a bit rough. Some of those big boats are Just amazing to watch as the flew by our little 16 footer. But I think my gas bill was lower...

Enjoyed meeting several nice people and a even couple of other Donzi owners. Kelly, sorry you weren't able to get over to the Poker Run, but we can get out on our side of the Cascades.

That is a great picture! I think I see our little green "speck" way off in the background. That heli had to be pretty low for you guys right in that area. From where we were, it looked really low, but very cool.

We are still going through our pictures and seeing if we have anything usable from our GoProHD video. But here is our boat back at the Dock...
