We have a new Donzi owner joining us in W Michigan. He just purchased a 1987 C-18 from near Gainsville, GA. Can anyone recommend a competent surveyor in that area? Also were there specific issues to look for in that era C-18. It is a 350 Mag/270 w/ Apha.

It looks like a real nice boat, maybe somebody knows it.

thanks
Jeff

Is that boat black/honey with red pinstripes?

VERY nice looking!

I noticed that the boat has a windshield and also a grab rail on the sides. Were all the boats of that vintage made that way and if so, when did they change to just the windshield or the grab rail and no windshield?

Google "NAMS" and "SAMS" these are the only two accredited groups in the US, you can search for one close to the boat to save on travel time.

Thanks MOP.

Re the grab rails. this may have been a era thing. Donzi Blue, 1988 C-22, has both windshield and side grab rails. Its a very functional.

Tony,

Yes, I have only seen the photos but they called it black/tan and it has red pinstripes on the hull stripes too.

I'm not sure what the 17/25 special edition was, if it was just the color combo or the 2+3 was a different cockpit arrangement. It has 320 hrs on it and I believe it has a 19P or 21P prop and the owner used it for skiing the kids it once in a while. Maybe it can turn a 23P for better cruise/top end. (350 Mag/ 270 Hp, don't know what the ratio is, maybe 1.65)

Someone at our marina asked if I would find him a C18 so I did.

I'm hoping this is one good deed that goes unpunished.
