Hey, Last season I finally got my 16 in the water. It ran great except for a few small issues. I put a mercruiser 260 in it. But the drive is a 280. Well the one issue I was having was with the carb. So over the winter I picked up a edelbrock dual plane intake. I also have a 650 holley for it. The problem I am having is with clearance with the thermostat housing. The intake that I got has a taller cooling runner so the thermostat housing sits higher. Well the t on top of the t-stat housing with the stock intake had about 3/4" of clearance between the back of the rear seat and the t. Would it be ok if I put a 45 degree fitting between the t and the housing to lean it back to give me the clearance I need.

I think you should be OK adding a 45* elbow between the top of the thermostat housing and your existing thermostat water outlet "T" ~~~

Just make sure the fitting you use has no internal flow restrictions inside.
Some 45* elbows flow better than others !

I doubt you will have any problems with this new addition .
This sounds like a simple & good fix !

Thanks, I am just trying to keep it simple and I was unsure if it would be a problem. I didn't think it would but I just wanted to check.
Thanks again, chris
