Baja !

Dare I say it on this great Donzi site !
I am a Donzi guy~~~Have been since the 70s !

Baja
They make/made several great I/O performance boats with open bows in this size 23, 25, 27 range !

Baja is owned by the very same holding company that now also owns Donzi, Fountain, Pro-line, etc.

The Baja brand seems to be in production limbo at the moment ~~~
But production is expected to begin again soon ! ?

There are some great used ones out there !

A neighbor of mine owns a Baja~~~
Great family performance, all around general use & fishing boat !
Very Fast Boats~~~for what they are !

Don't forget the later open Donzi boat models also !
Very Fast too !

Depends on how unique a hull you would like to own and how many degrees of deadrise you are hoping to have under you for that big lake water  Buddy, if you mention a wacker again on this site you'll be sent to the woodshed.

I would agree the ZXO is awesome as well as the formula 252 just that the ZXO +3 feet has the walk through which would provide a little shelther in a squall and oh been there.

DAULEY, do you have a slip constraint that limits you to less then 25 feet including any swim platform, whether it be integrated or added on? I would look for something more unique that not only gives you the bow ride function, but alos provides a small mid cabin area like the attached pic. Nice to get kids or the wife out of the weather or sun when needed and still easily go 60mph with a full load of peeps.

Now that I know that is a criteria, your best bet is to find a Warlock 23 XRI. These came as closed bow, open bow, and open bow with mid-cabin. They are an excellent all around boat with a propensity for larger water due to the high freeboard and straight transom to handle a good following sea. They are the only mid-cabin 24 degree deep V that is less then 24 feet and they have a full 8' beam.

Greg Guimond

And here is a Warlock 23 XRI Mid-Cabin Open Bow with low key gelcoat design by West Coast standards. This one is unusual because it has a gas saving 6.2MX which can burn any fuel you feed it I believe. If it is a family go fast boat, maybe 320HP is enough  Btw, they did not make the World Class 25 in Mid Cabin Open Bow.

I almost bought this boat before buying mine, from the previous owner. When I mean almost... I had financing in place and a check in my hand, ready to drive up to pick it up when the guy called to tell me he sold it to a neighbor.

I'd still sell mine if the right buyer came a knockin'. Not because I don't like it, just financial reasons. Everything is going up but my income:bonk:

These are great boats. Family fun and performance machine in one.

Well I will assume that you want to be under $25k including transportation to MI. You know about the yellow 2001 25 World Class and there is a 2000 23 XRI closed bow with mid cabin plus a 2004 and a 2000 23 XRI open bow walk through. Right now there are no mid cabin open bows though. You can always take either the 2001 25 World Class or the 2000 23 XRI and have the open bow installed. The left coast guys have it down to a science and do it all the time. It is unclear what motor that 2001 25 World Class has in it, the 502 or a 6.2 but I'd go to that one and then install a smaller open bow area into it, kinda like a critter but a bit bigger. Otherwise you have to wait for one to turn up.

Come on DAULEY, you can always stop by www.sturgisdesigns.com (http://www.sturgisdesigns.com) on your way back to MI with that Warlock 25 World Class Mid-Cabin and have them put the can opener to it  Then you will have exactly what you want. Instead of a big open bow area you can just have them install a little one, like enough for 2 people and keep the front sleep area. You will be the only one east of the Mississippi to have one, that's a guarantee! Then I can buy it from you when you tire of it  Look at the freeboard on that monster, plus a pad, a step, and a 25 degree bottom. Carter was not much of a marketeer, but he built some unique boats  Here is a pic of a smaller open bow install. Works great.

Here is a 2000 Ultimate Warlock "23 XRI" Mid Cabin. Color scheme is very sedate considering what you normally see from the West coast builders. It has a Bravo 3, which was a common offering for the XRI. First shot shows how much space these 23' hulls offer. The second pic shows the simple, old school, straight 24 degree V. No better riding 23 footer out there.
