New Rub Rail??

Does anyone know where I can get replacement rubrail for my '89 Z33 ?? Or something close to that will work? I think it is a half round solid back, or it may be a hollow back. Any help is appreciated !

Regardless, the source is the same.
Something else to consider.....how long are the pieces you have? Currently, only 6' and 11' available, I think.
If you have long pieces, for instance, the rails on my TR are 14' long and really go a long way to minimize the number of joints.
What I did on my Minx, and am planning to do on my TR is to powdercoat them. On the Minx, they were a contrasting red. On the TR, they will be "platinum", or silver. The powder coating is very tough and holds up much better than the raw aluminum finish.

I can also get you replacement railing. I offer Taco's products as well. The rail itself is not too terrible, it's the long sections that make the shipping a bit wacky.. :) Jamie / Lakeside

That is a fact. The last rubrail I was going to order would have cost more for the shipping than the actual rubrail - :nilly: Bill

And this is another reason to consider powdercoating.....you already have the rail.

Powder Coating is a great option if I can find someone in my area to do it.

Is there a way to repair it? Can I sand it down? Or wire brush? Steel wool?

In fact, if you want a good powder coat job, they have to cleaned up and sanded. If there're gouges, sand the edges smooth. Sand scratches. If there aren't any sharp edges anywhere, they'll look fine.
I'm sure in a city the size of Vancouver, there's a powdercoat facility w/long ovens.

We're talking about PC the EXISTING rails. There's not as problem w/that.

When you install it. A trick to make it easyer is to use a heat gun.It will slide right in.

Does Taco make the long sections in TN or Miami or ???

Poodle checked a couple of times and TACO will do it for a minimum order of 500 pieces, so I guess they don't make them at all.

Where do boat builders get their rails? Or are they using the smaller sections these days?

George, what size(s) would they do at that 500 unit number? And at what price?

I replaced my black tore up one on the regazza with stainless and white rubber. Cost about 1200.00 installed mostly because the stainless is hard to form but looks awesome.
