a friend of mine has an 09 polaris 800 that grenaded last weekend
the more we look into it the more this is an issue with the higher performance polaris of this year

anyways not looking to start a debate over better sleds etc

it is an american sled so they are giving him a bit of a tough time as far as possibly getting warrantee

it needs basically a new motor

cheapest repair bill right now is 5500

anyone have a line or idea on where you could maybe pick up a complete motor to drop into the sled ready to go

Tell your friend to keep at them,,write many letters..The Polaris 800 liberty has has many issues with crank failure..just a few weeks ago my friend was in powder and when he hit the throttle to take off he herd something snap and the sled would not move..we opened his hood and the clutch was laying in the belly pan..the pto shaft snapped off!! if polaris wont budge check with hardcoresledder.com or snowest.com ebay, your better off with the 700 liberty,,just as fast and better throttle response..the 700 will also fit in his chassis and the pipe is the same..

another issue is with Polaris's 4-stroke,did you know it will use 3 qts of oil every 800 miles? and their is no low oil warning light so they blow up..
