I have a set too that I'd sell for $100 if someone needs two sets. Otherwise I will not sell mine until Merc has sold his because I don't want to take a sale away from him.

OK Guys,
Need some info. My 18 was originally a 302 Ford with a Volvo drive and now is a 5.7 GM with a Volvo SX. The X dimension was raised so the 4” exhaust tips are up high and the flange was cut on top to get under the rub rail.

Out of respect to the lake property owners and the fact that the noise police are not far behind I’m interested in buying Jonathan’s tips, however they will not fit and would need to be modified to clear the rail. Question can these things be modified to fit under rub rail? Have others experienced the same problem and if so how did you deal with it.

They are like new. Off a 2005 boat. Ran for 2 seasons I think. I am at work now. Will try to get pics up tonight in a few hours.

I finally remembered to dig my tips out of storage.

Sorry for the crappy pics - I took some better ones but nobody in the office seems to have a USB cable to download them with! Had to resort to the old iphone.

Mine are stock tips from an '01 22 Classic, 502 Mag. Since they are a bit older than the others, I'll make the $95 instead of $100.

(what a bargain!)

johnny50 - watch for an email coming your way.

Just wondering why everyone is getting rid of these. There are some on ebay too. Are they too quiet?

Just wondering why everyone is getting rid of these. There are some on ebay too. Are they too quiet?I don't think so. I have these tips on my boat and love the sound. Nice, deep, rumble without being too harsh. Personally I don't know why someone would want to go louder....but to each his own.

I like the sound with the open tips and have clamp on mufflers if ever needed. I couldn't see ever putting the Corsa tips back on my boat.

Don't they produce a huge amount of exhaust restriction? Bill

I switched mine to SM when I did all the rest of the exhaust and got rid of the Q&Q at the same time. I mainly just wanted a slightly different look.

As for restriction...I can't say I picked up any performance by changing to straight tips. I'm sure they offer somewhat more than straight, but unless you're running a serious motor I don't think you'll see any difference.

Looks like a deal is in the works with johnny50...

Looking in these things from the front you would think so but there was no speed or power increase on my 496 HO from removing them. Most of my boating is on the open Great Lakes and I like the louder sound :). Of course I'm not running a 496 anymore but even then I liked the louder sound.

Thanks for the input. I was thinking about taking out the guts of them on my newly purchased Martini with the angle cut tip type Corsa silencer tips with no flappers, but I might actually try running it first. Thanks again, Bill
