I need to replace the gasket between the manifold and risers of my Holman Moody log style manifolds. Does anyone know where to find gaskets for them? Can I seal them with something else?

You can try Glenwood Marine @ 323-757-3141 or go to any auto parts store and get a piece of flat asbestos gasket material and make your own.

It is easy to cut them out of plain old Velimoid, no need to fight with asbestos it does get hot enough to bother. Simple way is to paint the riser with gasket compound set it on the riser for a few seconds remove it then let the compound setup a little so it is not so messy. then cut away the ungooped areas, to punch the holes sharpen a short piece of 5/16" tubing tap it with hammer.

I'll give Glenwood a call and see if they have them else I'll cut my own. I think this will solve my water reversion problem.

While you have the risers off, check it VERY carefully for Pin Holes under the rust scale in the risers. If you have reversion the riser may need to be replaced. DJ

These risers are aluminum . . .

I checked with Glennwood Marine this morning and they do not have the correct gaskets-- the risers in their cataloge look very, very similar to the ones I have but the gasket sample does not have holes for the water channels. Back to square one now.

Someone on this forum posted this link within the past year. I think the company was helpful with Special Gaskets. DJ

As soon as I have these off the engine, I may send them the pattern to Paramount Supply to fabricate for me. I also have access to a computerized routing machine so I may take a crack at it myself.

Jeff,

follow MOPs suggestion, this is seriously a 1/2 hour job with a good scissor and exacto knife . BTDT several times on numerous riser gaskets including my old H&M logs!
