If this is a $1000 suit, that's only because there's $975 in the pocket :bonk:.
Love him or hate him, he was an accomplished racer, and has left his mark.
Hope he saved some $$ for a rainy day.

Good discussion on OSO: http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/general-boating-discussion/243855-reggie-resigns.html
I especially like this post: http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/3272311-post71.html
I am "Thirdchildhood" there.
I met him at the Jacksonville Poker Run in about 2005. I was gonna get a pic with him, but I didn't want people to say, "Who's that guy with Cuda?'. ;)
Seriously though, love him or hate him, you have to respect him. He put his money and his life where his mouth was.

We can all blame the economy on a bunch of things, but I think Reggies downfall was buying Baja. Should have saved his money for a rainy day, and it poured......

wow......I just got a sinking feeling seeing Donzi and baja on the same sign:boggled::boggled::boggled:.............feel like I just ate a turd outta the catbox.
I realize that on the one hand we can feel fortunate that someone saved Donzi........but on the other hand, wish it could've been Cigarette saving Donzi. just my 2 centavos

I don't think Fountain paid a dime for Baja. Neither the company, or Reggie.
If I remember right Brunswick was losing their shirt on Baja, but they sold a ton of power plants to them through Mercury, so it was best to dump the company off on Fountain so they could continue selling engines to Baja and actually turn a profit. I think part of the deal was an agreement to put Mercury power in the boats.
This is all from memory, so take it for what it is worth
