I'm working on an RC 1/4 scale model Donzi Classic. I need to fabricate a semi-scale gimbal ring out of a suitable material such as aluminum. I found this site http://www.bigbluesaw.com/ and uploaded a design. The part is cut out of 3/4" aluminum and is about 4" x 2". I would do some additional hand machining of this part. They want about $80 to make one part (I can actually get 5 for that price - 5 seems to be the sweet spot in price versus quantity). I suppose that's not too bad considering, but I was wondering if anyone had access to a waterjet or CNC machine and could offer a cheaper alternative.
