So when did Donzi start calling the Classics a Classic? Was the first 22 2+3 called a Classic?

Not an expert, but I think it may have been when the z series was created in the mid/late 80's they began calling the older style the classics.

Somebody on the board will know the real answer to your question. Just for fun though, our interior pattern designations for the 16's are I/O, O/B, and Legend, the 18 as 18 2+3, the 22 as Farmers Folly! When I get a call about an interior for a Donzi Classic I ask "which one, 16, 18 or 22?" The name "Classic" is certainly justified.

Donzi did not immediatly use the Classic terminology when the Z boats were introduced. I think in was right around 1990 that it started. The 22 2+3 was not referred to as a Classic because it was introduced in 1982 after the F22 was discontinued. The only difference though was the deck; same hull.
