Are we too busy with our own lives to see the truth of what is going on in the world?

This page bears some thought and should be read by all Americans, scroll through it!

Took them long enough!

The reading on Debka is more than enlightening about where we and the world is headed.

Have a side comment.

According to both the BBC and the CNN articles, the guy of Somali descent was arrested on suspicion of attempting to use a "weapon of mass destruction."

The phrase "weapon of mass destruction" carries a lot of gravity because it has been reserved for nukes and biologicals. Certainly for something that can kill, say, a hundred-thousand plus people, and is not even possessed by most COUNTRIES. Even when those countries have all the resources of a country and WANT to acquire such weapons.

A vehicle bomb, as this plot allegedly was, does not come close to being a "weapon of mass destruction." If the phrase is watered down to include something like a car bomb, it is meaningless and thus useless. I encourage all loudly to call bull$hit on any entity (news, government, person, whatever) who abuses the term this way.

I don't know whether this is purely the two news media outlets' fault, or someone from some level of government or law enforcement, but given both the BBC and CNN pieces used the phrase word for word, my guess is this garbage came from some government or law-enforcement entity. Further, I would encourage all to ask themselves why anyone WOULD choose to misuse the term in this fashion (though this forum is the wrong place to discuss many possible theories about that).

People are bitching about the extra security but it looks to me like someone is doing their job. Not a laughing matter but I did get a kick out of "no one thinks about Oregon".

My mom is from Portland, and half my relatives live there. I told mom about it this morning.
