I wouldn't call it a "cabin" but I did finish mine for storage and occasional overnighting. Net weight gain was around 15 #s and if I pull the carpet it is lighter than stock. Yup we slept two guys in there a couple times. We lay opposite directions and it's not as bad as it sounds. I have a pic on the home puter I can post l8r.

Thanks Joe, that's the whole thread. Here are pics of the outcome:

Thanks man. If you do it the key is to keep it light! You add a lot of weight up there and it will kill the performance. Yeller did his too but a little differently.

Alright, I'll probably take some heat for this but this is how two guys can sleep in the front of my boat. The third friend got the back seat which sucks because it gets dewy and you can't stretch out. All the gear got piled in the engine room. He took this pic in the morning. This was at Put-in-Bay where we could afford a motel but it's more fun to party at the docks after the bars close. They have showers and top facilities for the boaters. Would rather curl up with a girl but it didn't happen! OK, let me have it now!

I did on my 16C and it was well worth it. It works even better on a 22. I did mine slightly different than Carl. I left the foot rests full height, but made them removable so you don't have to crawl in as far when sleeping.

The "cabin" project starts on post #74
