I am looking for an Exhaust block-off plate for a Volvo Penta 270/280 I am changing to a thru-hull system.
Or if any has a photo of one so I can get one made.
Thanks

SamIam, your private message box is full. I cannot reply.
Do you have a part number for the plate? Any photos and your price?

once you get your y pipe off you can take a 1/4'' piece of alunimum flat stock and trace it,, but first clamp the alunimum to the y and drill the holes first or at leaste get them started then finish it off with a drill press. then cut and grind away until it fits the shape of the y pipe..
another option, silent choice?

I did what Fix suggested. I used the Y-pipe as a pattern onto some cardboard, and shaped it until it fit, then used that as a pattern to cut the piece out of some 1/4" aluminum plate.
I put a piece of 3/16" thick rubber mat between the plate and the housing to make it water tight.

thanks for the advise, the y-pipe is already off the shield :)
I like the idea of using the rubber too, I was wondering how I am going to seal it. My shield has the main center hole and one smaller relief hole.
Thanks again.
I will report back on my effort
Just say N20: is that a metal ring you have going around your transom cutout? Nice idea

I'll clean out the pm box. It is a factory kit that I purchased for a customers job years ago, part # 3851397-4, cover plate for shield sp/dp. Comes with o-rings, plate, and hardware.
