Greg, A educated guess would be 24" on the Gil bracket, motor should be 25". I'm not interested to make another trip to the mid-west. Did one to pick up the DONZI O/B in Detriot, never again. "HIGH LIFE"

HIGH LIFE, I can see your spare 25" 300X monsters on the back of that Cig  Why bother with a 22 Classic conversion? Anyone know how many of the factory Cig 21's were made? I thought it was less then a dozen but not sure on that. Post some current pics of the interior, I think it has the center control station, very cool.

Looks really clean........
I'd suspect the setback on that older Gil is 30". You would not need anywhere near that if power was upgraded to 3.0L. You need 21" to be able to fully trim the engine without fear of pinching anythng by mistake. Any idea how many 21's the factory turned out?

DAULEY
09-29-2010, 07:27 PM
less than 12 from what i have been told but im not sure

Paging a certain member with a spare 300X 25" motor just sitting around

I have only seen one other factory 21 Cig so I would not be surprised if this was 1-of-12. How long have you owned it and what zip code is the boat located in? Anymore interior photos? Oh no, I'm getting that "feeling" again. What year and make is the trailer?

I wonder how that thing would run with no trim tabs.

I like the purple accents. Would have to get used to the left handed controls. Like the full transom, rather than a well. Can use the rear compartment for storage like I have on the MAGNUM. Does it have a center stringer ? if not can add a reserve gas tank & put a floor over it for battery & oil tank. "HIGH LIFE"

Very cool boat Dauley. I can't believe it has not sold yet. Does your Cig 21 have this type of fold up sun pad already installed on hinges like this pic below?

DAULEY
02-06-2011, 04:15 PM
no sun pad installed but easly installed or a very easy to convert to i/o if wanted then it would look like this one i sold about 8 months ago
lots of storage enough room for a few bodys or a bigblock:nilly:

Greg Guimond

Anyone who even thinks of converting that boat into an IO will be dragged into the square and shot.

Is your rear bench seat mounted all the way back, almost against the transom? Normally the closed transom stuff has a small hinged sunpad that doubles as easy access to the batteries and bilge when in the up position.

DAULEY
02-06-2011, 05:09 PM
there is about 2.6 ft maybe 3ft of storage from the back of seat to tramsom hinge deck lid you could mount a extra 50 gal tank and still have room for 2 bodys
greg, the pictures i posted are of another 21 that was converted to a i/o
so if you look at engine are you can see how much room there is

Have you sold your Cigarette 21 OB yet?

Greg Guimond
05-15-2011, 12:32 PM
No worries Donzi Racer. Just as a note, that is a factory Cig OB and the balance of that particular hull would not work well as an I/O. You would spend a fair amount and be bummed with the results. Now a 300XS with less setback (16"-17")then it has now would give you a legit 80mph hull even as heavy as they are.

nice 21 cig outboard with 200 hp merc black max and trailer

Did this boat ever sell? I just responded to a CL ad for a 1987 Cigarette, asked for pics... and he asked for my email and phone to make sure I was real and not an automated email...So I responded with both... got pics of this boat...

http://longisland.craigslist.org/boa/2519438669.html

then I found this today... same ad...

http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/boa/2519410742.html

Did I just screw up?

Greg Guimond

That could be Dauleys boat. He is not much of a marketing type when it comes to selling things so the way those ads read it sure sounds like him. 240HP out of a 2.4L Black Max is highly suspect so perhaps there is another Cigarette 21 Factory OB being sold out there. I have run across a few over the past few years. Good Luck.
