got engine and drive installed, trim works fine with new sender, but can't get the shifting adjusted- it's either forward and neutral or reverse and neutral, can't get all three with my adjustment...
the shifting unit at the starboard riser is from an alpha, my drive is a bravo- is there a difference between alpha/bravo? It seems like the way is too short at the moment... I know there exists a template but does anyone have an idea why it completely fails? Thanks, Axel

The shifters are different, but I don't know by how much.
I bought a new one for my Bravo, you can have my old one if you want it.
Just need some shipping money.
Also, there have been floods of them, at times, on eBay at good prices.
I think mine was about $40.00.

BTW Axel, did you align the drive?
The front seems really low for that series of Donzi 22.

Thanks very much George, I might get back to you with your offer about the riser mounted shifting plate if I don't find another way (cause I don't wanna cause you any trouble).
I was wondering myself why the engine is sitting so low at the front, but alignment is fine- could move the tool in-and-out with one hand and turn it easily- the GT21 transom is more upright compared to the 22 classic (and look how much more space there is in the engine room!). May be that's the reason why... but may be some other board members know more?

Axel, I keep forgetting it's a GT 21!
Maybe the stringers are taller.
I've never nosed around in one.

Can't help with your shifter woes, but that sure looks like a very clean install! Nice work!

thanks, it is all some used and pretty old stuff but I made the best out of it... it will be updated to newer stuff when I have $$$ again.

It is going to get a www.donzi.net in chrome letters underneath the sticker soon!! My way of thanking you guys for all the help and fun here on board :)

The shift converters are the same, I am using my alpha on my bravo for four years now. Al I did was remove the interrupt stuff, the clevis is adjustable to change the throw very simple, look you will see the slot behind the pin move it either in or out to achieve the correct throw. It is made that way to adjust for cable wear.

aah! Must have a closer look, it drove me mad today with not getting it right. I was jumping in and out of the boat for about 100 times to check wether the drive is in gear or not, than trying to adjust again and no clean result... :nilly: I was actually thinking about throwing the boat in water with just a forward/neutral and using a paddle for reversing... :bonk:

yep, I have seen that too. Wonder if twins are better than a strong single engine in this boat, but that is already an ongoing discussion...
