just picked up our first ever donzi, its a 87 22c with a 454 with a alpha 1 on the back, i have a couple of questions about the boat
1)the boat says limited edition on it, wondering if thats a factory thing or if the guy had that done.
2)about how fast should this boat be with the 454/alpha1 setup?

thanks,
boatman

no, you are correct, the guy did say that he had it painted, the interior is grey with red piping, and then that would explain why half of the engine cover is off white....awesome info!! thanks

It should go 60-65.

Just be nice to that Alfa. The BBC can put out allot of torque.

Just don't drive it like you stole it and keep good lube in the drive and you should get years of service. It already has 23 years of service. It will be faster with the Alpha than if you switched to a Bravo.

I have an 87 22C with the same engine/drive combo. It runs 63 to 65. Look how long the drive has been on the boat. You will be just fine. Dont drive like an idiot (ie jumping and not backing off the throttle, slamming the throttle when taking off, and chopping the throttle from top speed). Drive it like a 25 year old boat that you would like to last another 25 years.

My mechanic in Pinellas had over 3000 hours on the same set up on a heavy Pursuit boat.
