Blackhawk 22 with a shortie

Well I have already made the switch to the bravo x on my 22 blackhawk and it seems to run great but I was wondering if I put an imco shortie on would the boat have a problem getting on plane since the X dem is raised. Thanks Blake Sullivan

I've only ridden in one Donzi Blackhawk boat. but it had a Blackhawk drive and a raised "X" dim. Maybe raised 2". I remember the exhaust flanges were cut at the top to miss the rail on the transom.
They seemed to do pretty good.

My engine just about touches the top of my hatch and my exhaust does touch my hatch in two little spots but since and Imco is not designed to be a "surface drive" per-say I am just wondering of the out come. Thanks

you could always add a drive spacer or try a bigger diameter prop..when you raise the x you loose prop bite so somtimes going a extra 1/2 '' on the prop diameter makes a huge difference..

Seeing that the X is already higher on the blackhawk boats you are technically running a "shorty" now when compared to most 22s.

IF I remember correctly most Bravo boats had a X of 14.5 and the Blackhawk boats were 17.5"(I think the newer ones have a higher X). If it is 17.5" then you can go a little higher and still plane. However, you may have to run a 4-blade prop.
