As I await the arrival of my prop today I started to wonder. Should I get a prop cover for it when not in use or while traveling?

This thing ain't cheap! :):)

NO: If you cover it up, no one will see how COOL your prop is. :bonk:

I'm in the process of creating one for my DPX. After having the propset worked on over the winter the edges are WAY sharper than before, and that is worrisome to me as I walk around the boat while working on it.

What you (and I) need is one of those trailer extenders to protect the rear of the boat. The prop covers are fabric or plastic so will not protect from an impact. Also there will be other damage, such as a bent prop shaft. I know, I got rear ended a few years ago! Forget the cover. Let your cool prop shine! JMO

Why not take it off when traveling/storing? PUt a piece of PVC over the shaft; you can paint/sticker it for fun. :D
